Why Ibiza?

Why Ibiza's Clubs Are the Best in the World

No other island on earth has concentrated so much dance music history, culture, and world-class clubbing talent into such a small space. Ibiza's club scene didn't emerge overnight — it evolved over five decades, from the free-spirited bohemian gatherings of the 1960s through the disco revolution of the 70s, the acid house explosion of the late 80s, and the superclub era of the 90s and 2000s, right up to today's technologically advanced, globally broadcast mega-events.

What makes Ibiza's clubs genuinely special isn't just the names behind the decks — though having Carl Cox, Black Coffee, Eric Prydz, David Guetta and countless other legends play within a five-mile radius on any given summer night is remarkable. It's the culture. Ibiza clubs attract audiences who travel from every corner of the world specifically for the music. The dancefloors are filled with people who know exactly what they came for.

The island currently has something for every kind of clubber. Raw underground techno at DC10. Glamorous heritage house music at Pacha. Futuristic immersive production at Hï Ibiza. Open-air daylight raving at Ushuaïa. Legendary foam parties at Amnesia. West End energy at Eden. And dozens of smaller, more intimate venues in between. This guide covers them all — honestly, independently, and in as much detail as you need to plan the perfect Ibiza club experience.

DC10 Ibiza interior — raw underground dancefloor with crowd
Techno House
Est. 1999

DC10

Carretera de l'Aeroport, Km 1.5, Ibiza

Editor's top pick

👥 Capacity: ~3,000 💶 Entry: €20–€50 📅 Mon nights (Circoloco) 🌙 Opens midnight

Located just metres from Ibiza Airport's runway, DC10 is the most credible club on the island — and arguably one of the most important underground clubs in the world. Its raw, industrial aesthetic couldn't be more different from the polished superclub experience down the road. Corrugated metal, exposed concrete, no VIP nonsense — just serious music and a crowd that's there entirely for the right reasons.

The club's most famous night is Circoloco, held every Monday — a marathon session that regularly runs from midnight until noon the following day. Circoloco has evolved from a local gathering into a global brand, but the spirit remains the same: underground house and techno, played without compromise, to an audience that understands every record. Other notable nights include Elrow and various takeovers throughout the season.

What to Expect at DC10

  • No dress code — come as you are, authenticity valued over fashion
  • Two rooms: main dancefloor and a terrace open to the sky (and aircraft noise)
  • Sound system is legendary — deep, physical bass you feel in your chest
  • Camera/phone policy enforced — it's about the experience, not the content
  • Book tickets in advance — Circoloco Monday is almost always sold out
Pacha Ibiza — the iconic glamorous nightclub interior
House Disco
Est. 1973

Pacha

Av. 8 d'Agost, s/n, 07800 Ibiza Town

Ibiza institution

👥 Capacity: ~3,000 💶 Entry: €30–€70 📅 Thu, Fri, Sat nights 🌙 Opens midnight

Founded in 1973, Pacha is the oldest surviving superclub in Ibiza and arguably the most recognisable nightclub brand in the world. Its iconic twin cherry logo has appeared on T-shirts from Tokyo to Toronto. The club sits in a converted finca near Ibiza Town harbour and has been refurbished and expanded multiple times without losing the intimate, ornate feel that made it famous in the first place.

Pacha operates multiple rooms across two floors — the main room hosts the headline DJ, while the Funky Room downstairs is a legendary disco and funk den that has been running since the club's earliest days. Expect big-name house music DJs, a smart-casual dress code, genuinely glamorous VIP areas, and an audience that's slightly older and more sophisticated than the average Ibiza crowd.

What to Expect at Pacha

  • Smart-casual dress code — no sportswear, trainers acceptable if clean and stylish
  • Main room + Funky Room + rooftop terrace bar
  • Famous for Flower Power (retro disco night) on selected Thursdays
  • Premium drink prices — budget €15–20 per cocktail
  • Pre-book tickets — walk-up entry is possible but queue can be long
Amnesia Ibiza — foam party crowd under transparent roof
House Techno
Est. 1976

Amnesia

Carretera Ibiza–San Antonio, Km 5

Ibiza legend

👥 Capacity: ~5,000 💶 Entry: €25–€60 📅 Tue, Wed, Fri nights 🌙 Opens 11pm

Amnesia has one of the most storied histories in all of Ibiza clubbing. Originally an open-air venue surrounded by almond trees, it was where acid house first arrived on the island in the late 80s, inspiring the British ravers who took the sound back home and launched the Second Summer of Love. Today it retains a transparent glass roof over its main room — so in the early hours, you can still look up and watch the sky lighten above the dancefloor.

Amnesia is particularly famous for its foam parties and the legendary Cocoon residency, which has been running since 1999. The club has two massive rooms — the Main Room and the Terrace — each with its own sound system and programming. The Terrace is one of the finest dancefloor experiences on the island.

What to Expect at Amnesia

  • Two massive rooms — Main Room and the legendary Terrace
  • Famous foam cannon nights — wear clothes you don't mind getting soaked
  • Cocoon with Sven Väth — one of the most iconic nights in Ibiza history
  • No strict dress code but smart casual preferred in main room
  • Located between Ibiza Town and San Antonio — taxis easy to find
Hï Ibiza — futuristic LED production and dancefloor
Techno Progressive
Est. 2017

Hï Ibiza

Platja d'en Bossa, 07817 Ibiza

World #1 club

👥 Capacity: ~5,000 💶 Entry: €30–€80 📅 Mon, Thu, Sun nights 🌙 Opens midnight

Built on the bones of the legendary Space Ibiza, which closed in 2016 after 27 years, Hï Ibiza opened in 2017 and immediately set a new global benchmark for what a nightclub could be. The production — lighting, sound, visuals — is the most advanced of any club on the island. Multiple rooms deliver completely different atmospheres: the Theatre is an immersive LED spectacle; the Club Room is a more intimate, darker, deeper experience.

Hï's residency list reads like a who's who of modern electronic music: Carl Cox (Resistance), Eric Prydz, Black Coffee, and Fisher are among the biggest names who have called Hï their summer home. The infamous Wild Corner — a DJ booth inside the unisex bathroom — has become one of the most unique and beloved features of any club in the world.

What to Expect at Hï Ibiza

  • Theatre Room: massive LED ceiling, immersive lighting rigs, huge sound
  • Club Room: dark, intimate, focused on music first
  • Wild Corner: a DJ plays inside the bathroom — genuinely unlike anything else
  • Smart casual — slightly more formal than DC10, less strict than Pacha
  • Located on Playa d'en Bossa strip — easy taxi access, beach nearby
Ushuaia Ibiza — open air pool party with DJ stage
EDM Open Air
Est. 2011

Ushuaïa

Platja d'en Bossa, 10, 07817 Ibiza

Best open-air venue

👥 Capacity: ~5,000 💶 Entry: €30–€75 📅 Daily (daytime & evening) ☀️ Opens 4pm

Ushuaïa is Ibiza's ultimate open-air experience — a hotel, beach club, and outdoor venue rolled into one spectacular complex on Playa d'en Bossa. The main stage sits alongside a swimming pool and hosts some of the world's biggest EDM and house DJs from afternoon until midnight, when the crowd often migrates directly across the road to Hï Ibiza to continue the night.

What makes Ushuaïa unique is its festival energy in a club setting. CO₂ cannons, LED towers, pyrotechnics and production values that rival any major festival — all with sunshine, sea breeze, and a crowd in swimwear. David Guetta's residency here has become one of Ibiza's most iconic annual events. Book well in advance for July and August — it consistently sells out weeks ahead.

What to Expect at Ushuaïa

  • Daytime pool party vibe — swimwear and summer outfits welcome
  • Festival-scale production in a club environment
  • Hotel guests get priority — worth staying here for direct access
  • Directly opposite Hï Ibiza — perfect double-header night
  • Book early — David Guetta nights often sell out 2+ months ahead

Insider Advice

Essential Tips for Ibiza Clubs

First-time or returning — these tips will save you money, time and unnecessary stress on your Ibiza club nights.

🎟️

Book Tickets in Advance

The biggest nights — Circoloco at DC10, Resistance at Hï, David Guetta at Ushuaïa — regularly sell out weeks ahead. Walk-up entry is often impossible and always more expensive. Use Resident Advisor or official club websites and book early.

🕛

Arrive Late — Really Late

Ibiza clubs don't get going until 1am–2am. Arriving at midnight means you're among the first through the door in an empty venue. The peak energy hits between 3am and 6am. Plan accordingly — sleep in the afternoon and eat at 10pm.

💳

Budget Properly

Entry fees range from €15 at Eden to €80 at Hï for peak nights. Drinks inside typically cost €12–20 each. A full night out can easily cost €100–200 per person once you factor in transport, entry and drinks. Budget ahead and you'll enjoy it more.

👗

Dress Code Matters

Pacha and Hï enforce smart-casual — no flip-flops, no football shirts. DC10 is genuinely anything-goes. Ushuaïa welcomes swimwear during the day. When in doubt, dress up rather than down — you'll never be turned away for being too smart.

🚕

Sort Your Transport

Ibiza has official club buses (Discobus) connecting major venues and towns for around €3–4 per journey. Taxis work but can be scarce at 4am. Pre-book a taxi home if you're leaving Pacha or DC10 at peak time — it saves a lot of waiting.

💧

Stay Hydrated & Safe

Ibiza nights are long and the venues are hot. Drink water regularly — most clubs provide free water points. Pace yourself, look out for your group, and if you feel unwell, all major venues have first aid staff on site. A great night is a safe night.

Find Your Sound

Ibiza Music Genres Guide

Not sure which club matches your taste in music? Here's what each genre sounds like and where to find it in Ibiza.

Techno

Hard-edged, rhythmic and hypnotic electronic music typically played at 130–145 BPM. Emphasises drum patterns and industrial textures. Minimal light shows — the music is the focus.

Best venues: DC10, Hï Ibiza (Club Room), Amnesia (Terrace)

House Music

Soulful, groove-driven electronic music at 120–130 BPM. Has roots in Chicago and Detroit. Ranges from deep and minimal to uplifting and euphoric. The original sound of Ibiza.

Best venues: Pacha, DC10, Amnesia, Hï Ibiza (Theatre)

Disco / Classic

Funk-influenced dance music from the 1970s–80s, enjoying a massive revival. Think Giorgio Moroder, Chic and classic Balearic sounds. Joyful, energetic and deeply feel-good.

Best venues: Pacha (Funky Room), Flower Power nights, Es Paradis

EDM / Big Room

High-energy, anthemic electronic dance music built for massive festival crowds. Features build-ups, drops and crowd interaction. Polarising in the clubbing world but undeniably exciting live.

Best venues: Ushuaïa (David Guetta), Eden, Privilege

Common Questions

Ibiza Clubs FAQ

It depends entirely on what you're looking for. For underground credibility and music quality, DC10 is unmatched. For production and world-class residencies, Hï Ibiza consistently ranks as the world's #1 club. For heritage and glamour, Pacha is the iconic choice. For daytime open-air experience, Ushuaïa is unrivalled. There is no single "best" — each has its own genius.

Entry prices range from around €15 at Eden or Es Paradis on quieter nights to €70–80 at Hï Ibiza or Pacha during peak weeks in July and August. €30–50 is typical for a mid-week night at a major superclub. Prices are significantly higher at the door than if you book online in advance — always pre-buy where possible.

Most Ibiza nightclubs open around 11pm–midnight and close at 6am–8am, with some sessions like Circoloco at DC10 running until noon the following day. Ushuaïa is the exception — its open-air parties begin at 4pm and run into the evening. Don't plan to arrive before midnight unless you're comfortable in a near-empty club.

Yes — the legal minimum age is 18 in Spain and all Ibiza clubs enforce this strictly. Carry valid photo ID (passport or national ID card). Some venues are more relaxed about entry for those who look older, but don't risk it — bouncers at Pacha and Hï in particular are thorough.

The official Ibiza club season runs from late May through early October. Opening parties typically happen in late May/early June, and closing parties in late September/early October. Peak season is July and August — the busiest, most expensive, and most energetic time to visit. June and September offer a sweet spot of full programming with smaller crowds and lower prices.

The Discobus is the cheapest option — a network of club buses running nightly between Ibiza Town, Playa d'en Bossa, San Antonio and the main clubs for €3–4 per ride. Taxis are more expensive but reliable. Uber doesn't operate in Ibiza, but there are local ride-hailing apps. Pre-arrange your taxi home if you're finishing late — availability drops sharply after 5am.
